Does your household currently participate in a weekly Family Game Night? If not, starting this tradition can be a fun way to bring everyone closer together while increasing quality time.
Whether you spend the evening telling jokes, making up stories or playing interactive board games, there are many ways to make the night memorable for all of your family members. Check out these four fun ideas if you need some inspiration.
1. Balloon Tennis
Have you ever wanted to play tennis inside without breaking a window? Balloon tennis makes your dreams come true. By blowing up balloons and using tennis rackets to hit them back and forth with an opponent, you can bring tennis to your kitchen, living room or bedroom without damaging anything.
2. Indoor Bowling
Clear out a space somewhere in the house to set up a bowling lane, and find 10 plastic bottles that you can use as makeshift bowling pins. Empty 20-ounce water and soda bottles work well. Then, arrange the bottles into the standard triangular shape that you see at your local bowling alley. Do not use an actual bowling ball though. Locate something lighter.
3. Spoons Card Game
If your family appreciates card games, then playing Spoons is another excellent game night suggestion. Using a standard 52-card deck, players draw and discard until someone has four of a kind. When this happens, the person grabs a spoon and everyone else races to do the same, leaving one player out in each round. Think of it like Musical Chairs but with spoons.
4. Paper Plane Contest
For something more simple, you can always pass out letter-sized sheets of paper to everyone in the house and have each person create his or her own paper plan. Then, set up an area where the whole family can race. The more thought you put into your planes, the more fun this activity can be.
With these ideas in mind, how will you spend your next Family Game Night? Asking your children and spouse for input can be another way to make brainstorming more fun.
